Welcome to Our Preschool
The Calvary United Methodist Preschool was established in September 1992 as part of the Children’s Ministries. Our mission is to provide education, instill and foster Christian values and nurture families in a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. The pastors, Children's Weekday Ministries Board, teachers, and staff are here to serve you. Please feel free to call on us at any time.

Our Mission
Our Preschool is designed to provide a Christ-centered educational program where children obtain a Christian education and develop school-readiness skills. The school serves children ages 3 - 5 years, to prepare them to enter into elementary school. The Preschool is staffed with committed Christians who have your child’s development as their priority. All teachers are required to have a degree and teacher aides are required to have experience in working with young children. The Preschool is supervised by a director and is administered by the Children’s Weekday Ministry Board.

Jr. Pre-K (Age three years by August 1)
Socialization through small and large group activities is important at this age. Students will begin to develop academic readiness with shapes, colors, sizes, and eposure to numerals and the alphabet. Activities for large and small muscles allow for physical development while stories, rhymes, and songs aid listening skills and spiritual awareness. Field trips are planned throughout the year. Class size is limited to 12 students.

3's Plus (Age four years by November 1)
This class is designed for older three-year-olds who are ready for a 3-day-a-week program. It offers a curriculum similar to the Pre-K classes. Children who have already mastered their colors, numbers, and shapes would be appropriate for this class. Children are encouraged to enroll in Kinderskills the following year. Maximum class size is 15 children.

Pre-K (Age four years by August 1)
A program of gross and fine motor development, social interaction, and values awareness is integrated with academic readiness in the areas of listening, language, writing, alphabet and numeral recognition, and initial letter sounds. Field trips and discovery play expand the child's experiences. Maximum class size is 15 students.

Kinderskills (Age five years by November 1)
This class is designed for older preschoolers and five-year-olds who need an extra year of growth before Kindergarten. The 4-day-a-week class will continue to provide readiness skills and will offer enhanced language arts and math, hands-on science, and cooking and field trip experiences. Maximum class size is 15 students.

Our Mission
Parent’s Day Out is a supervised child care program designed to meet the needs of parents for free time. It is our goal to provide your child with a safe and nurturing Christian environment, in which the love of God in Christ can be made known and in which children can grow and learn the values of a Christ-centered community of faith.

Many of the activities and stories will coincide with the Bible; however, teachers may incorporate other songs, stories, videos and activities which are not Biblically based. A short prayer of thanks prior to snack and lunch is also a part of our daily routine.

Your child will also have many opportunities for free play. He/she will have many chances to express themselves creatively through role play, puppetry, learning centers, and other small group activities. Please keep in mind that while we will try to offer your child challenging learning experiences through play, we are not a preschool program.

We will strive to provide positive life experiences to help your child grow in understanding God's love. It is our belief that children need experiences that build a good self image, foster creativity, teach appreciation for the world, and develop an awareness of all persons as children of God.
